Explore the Focus Questions

The guided tutorial structure proceeds from the more simple to the more complex appreciation of the issues involved with the proposed mine. These are structured as follows:

  • What are the issues about?
What are the main positions being put forward?
Are there any 'facts' about the mine are not at present contested?

  • What knowledge or information do the arguments draw upon or assume?
What, for example, is the framework for presenting economic benefits vs ecological dangers?

  • What are the strengths and weaknesses of each side of the argument? top of page
How can these be assessed in light of the extensive documentation that is available?
Here you will be encouraged to go a little more deeply into the various themes, and to explore their interconnections.
